A LITTLE ABOUT the founder + timeline

The Designer Behind It All

Between my mid-twenties and late twenties, I walked through one of the hardest seasons of my life. My health forced me to confront what mattered most. My faith and my relationship with Jesus became the foundation that reshaped not only how I viewed success, but how I made decisions, built relationships, and eventually started this business.

I left education, enrolled in a UX design bootcamp, and stepped into a creative world that felt both exciting and terrifying. Around the same time, I found myself managing content behind the scenes for creators I admired, unexpectedly signing with a modeling agency, and slowly realizing that every chapter of my life had been preparing me for this one.

Today, SAF & Co. is the intersection of everything I've loved all along: storytelling, strategy, thoughtful design, and helping people communicate who they are with confidence.

The Woman Behind the Brand

Long before I knew what UX design, branding, or creative direction even were, I was the girl carrying a light pink Sony Cybershot camera everywhere I went. This was when our MySpace Top 5 was the hottest topic at lunch.

Looking back, I wasn't just taking pictures—I was learning how stories make people feel.

Like many first-generation daughters, I chose the path that felt responsible. Fresh out of college, I became a special education teacher and built a career centered around helping others. I loved advocating for my students, designing lessons for different learning styles, and finding creative ways to help every child feel seen.

It's nice to meet you.

for as long as I can remember, I've been drawn to stories.

SAF & Co. was born!  With a little NYC-born grit and some much-needed pep talks, I went the road less traveled. It's only the beginning.

My journey...

I studied Health Science in college, which limited my creative spark to quirky class presentations and note-taking systems. Looking back, aesthetics was always finding its way into my work—even when I didn't realize it.

I left the classroom to pursue UX design, stepped into content creation and social media management, and unexpectedly began modeling. For the first time, all the creative interests I'd collected over the years started to connect.

As a special education teacher, I discovered that great design isn't just visual—it's about making information accessible, engaging, and meaningful for every learner. Advocacy and empathy became skills I'd carry into every creative project that followed.

A pink Sony Cybershot sparked my love for storytelling, and I rarely went anywhere without it. From recess dance videos to MySpace photo shoots, I was always the one documenting the moment.

"My hope is that one day SAF & Co. becomes more than a creative studio. I want it to become a place where talented women of color can create meaningful work together, build careers they're proud of, and remind people that great design
doesn't just look beautiful—it makes people feel understood."
